Kuzey, Leh-Ladakh: President National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) & Chairman of IFFCO Mr. Dileep Sanghani has praised the work and progress achieved by Looms of Ladakh Women’s Cooperative under the able leadership of Abhilasha Bahuguna, the founder Director and the devotion and commitment of the members of this organization.
Mr Sanghani was addressing the General Body of Looms of Ladakh as Chief Guest here on Tuesday 5 September 2023. He said that NCUI is in the forefront to extend all help to organisations working in the Cooperative sector. NCUI is already collaborating with Looms of Ladakh in imparting training to its members, he said adding more members should be coming forward to receive training.
Mr Sanghani announced that NCUI will bear the cost of transporting products produced by Looms of Ladakh to Delhi for participating in a dedicated fare for cooperatives and would also be paying the entire cost of transporting the goods back or for storing the goods in Delhi.
Mrs Savitri Singh, Deputy CEO NCUI, also addressed the Members and said that her organisation will always be there to extend help to Looms of Ladakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Abhilasha Bahuguna threw light on the progress made by her organisation within a short period. She specially underscored the growth of Looms of Ladakh by projecting the rising graph of membership from 120 to 400 within few years.
Professor from IIT Bhubaneshwar Purabee Purnasha spoke about the importance of Post GI Index with special reference to Ladakh Pashmina.
Renowned journalist Lalit Shastri delivered a motivational address and had all praise for Looms of Ladakh, it’s vision and the democratic leadership inbuilt in the working of the women’s cooperative.
Mr Dileep Singhani and Mrs Savitri Singh used the opportunity to interact with members on the vision and mission of Looms of Ladakh.
On this occasion, members also gave a folk dance presentation. The CEO of Looms of Ladakh Ms Lobzang Lamo gave the welcome address and vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Tsering Youdol. The programme was conducted by Ms Amina.
