Modi hails Operation Sindoor as a turning point in India’s military doctrine; says India will strike on its own terms if provoked again
Adampur, Punjab | 13 May 2025
In a thunderous and emotive address delivered amid resounding chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday saluted India’s armed forces for scripting military history with Operation Sindoor, a decisive campaign that dismantled Pakistan’s terror infrastructure and neutralized its nuclear blackmail. Speaking at Air Force Station Adampur, Modi declared the Indian armed forces have set a new global benchmark in warfare defined by precision, courage, and moral clarity.
“Bharat Mata Ki Jai is the voice that follows every missile strike, every drone attack.”
“Bharat Mata Ki Jai Is No Slogan – It’s Our Soul”
Opening his speech with patriotic fervor, Prime Minister Modi said:
“Bharat Mata Ki Jai is not just a slogan—it is the oath of every soldier, the resolve of every citizen, and the voice that echoes from battlefield to mission command.”
He said this roar, now synonymous with Indian military action, echoes when missiles strike terrorist hideouts, when drones raze enemy fortresses.
“When the feet of the brave fall on the earth, the earth becomes blessed.”
Operation Sindoor: The New Military Doctrine
Calling Operation Sindoor a watershed moment, Modi said:
“This was not an ordinary military operation. It is the confluence of India’s policy, intentions and decisiveness. It marks the birth of a new normal.”
“Operation Sindoor is not a one-off — it is our new normal.”
He invoked India’s civilizational duality—of Buddha’s peace and Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s valor—to describe India’s resolve in the face of evil. Quoting Guru Gobind Singh, he asserted that India strikes only to destroy evil and restore righteousness.
“When the sindoor of our daughters was snatched, we crushed the terrorists’ fangs in their own homes.”
“We Entered Their Homes and Crushed Them”
Revealing operational details, Modi lauded the tri-services for demolishing:
- 9 major terror hideouts
- Over 100 terrorists
- All major Pakistani terror bases
“There will be only one result of raising an eye towards India—destruction.”
He emphasized that Pakistan’s military, which harbored these terrorists, has been taught a lesson that there is no place safe for terror on its soil.
“You destroyed not just their bunkers, but their audacity.”
India’s Precision Strikes: “Unimaginable, Unprecedented”
Modi praised the Indian Air Force for executing operations with pinpoint accuracy:
“Only a force like ours could penetrate deep into enemy territory, hit targets within 20–25 minutes, and return unharmed. The enemy was pierced before they even realized what happened.”
“Your speed and precision stunned the enemy before it could blink.”
He revealed Pakistan’s attempt to shield terror sites using civilian aircraft, and commended Indian pilots for neutralizing threats without harming non-combatants.
“You gave a befitting reply while upholding humanity.”
Pakistan’s Retaliation Attempts Crushed
According to Modi, multiple counterattacks by Pakistan were neutralized:
“Pakistan’s drones, aircraft, and missiles—all were intercepted and destroyed. Our air defense systems proved impenetrable.”
“Despite repeated attacks, not a single airbase was harmed. That’s your strength.”
Modern Indian Weapons, the New Chetak
With poetic flair, Modi likened India’s modern arsenal to Chetak, the legendary warhorse of Maharana Pratap:
“These lines about Chetak now apply to our missiles and drones — swift, precise, fearless.”
“Pakistan won’t sleep easy for days thinking about our weapons.”
India’s Red Lines Are Now Clear
Modi laid down three foundational principles that define India’s new security posture:
- India will respond to terror in its own time and on its own terms.
- India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail.
- India sees no distinction between terrorists and governments that shield them.
“India no longer distinguishes between terrorists and those who protect them.”
He said this is the new normal — seen during the surgical strikes, Balakot, and now Operation Sindoor.
Tech + Tactics: India Leads the Way
Modi emphasized the seamless coordination among Army, Navy, Air Force, BSF and intelligence units, calling it a hallmark of India’s growing strength.
“Integrated air and land systems are now India’s identity of strength.”
He praised India’s cutting-edge systems like Akash, S-400, and indigenous platforms, for protecting all critical infrastructure.
“You’ve shown that India’s strength is not just in metal, but in minds and machines.”
A Message of Vigilance and Resolve
In his concluding remarks, Modi reiterated India’s commitment to peace but warned against any misadventure:
“We have only suspended military action. If Pakistan shows even the slightest sign of terrorist activity or military audacity again, our response will be swift and decisive.”
“India wants peace—but knows how to destroy evil when humanity is attacked.”
He ended with a rousing call:
“With this resolve, let us say once again—Bharat Mata Ki Jai!”
The resounding chant that followed wasn’t just ceremonial—it was the sound of a nation standing united, confident, and ready.
