New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was unanimously elected as the leader of the NDA on Wednesday 5 June.

Earlier in the day, Modi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and tendered his resignation along with the Union Council of Ministers. The President accepted the resignation and requested the Prime Minister and the Union Council of Ministers to continue in office till the new Government is formed.

President Droupadi Murmu has also accepted advice of the Cabinet to dissolve the 17th Lok Sabha with immediate effect. The President signed the Order dissolving the 17th Lok Sabha in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by Sub-clause (b) of Clause (2) of Article 85 of the Constitution.

Wednesday night President hosted a dinner for the outgoing Union Council of Ministers, led by Prime Minister Modi, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The NDA government under the leadership of Shri Modi ji is committed to serving the poor, women, youth, farmers and exploited, deprived and oppressed citizens of India. The NDA government will continue to work towards improving the standard of living of the people of India by preserving the heritage of India and for the all-round development of the country.

The resolution was passed unanimously today on June 05, 2024 in New Delhi.
