My confused mind often wonders: what is the secret to understanding the mindset of people, especially when it comes to the mindset of a large population?

Movies like “Crew,” “Shaitaan,” and “Animal” become blockbusters, while a precious gem like “Laapata Ladies” has to stream free on Netflix to be noticed and appreciated.

People who give a home to Lord Ram are backstabbed by their very own residents. A state that becomes crime-free forgets its history and desires instability. Mediocre brands celebrate just passing an exam by grace marks, and merit holders are criticized for not getting into an Ivy League college.

Reflection and introspection are necessary for one’s growth, but for others to celebrate your fall without any credibility is another story.

Kashmir would not be what it is today. Many of our students would not have returned safely from Ukraine and Israel if our government had not taken personal interest. Our Prime Minister would not have become a global icon and given respect to each Indian outside the country if it wasn’t for his vision.

But if it doesn’t hurt us, we don’t care. We like nepotism, whether it’s in Bollywood or politics.

I hope we see the bigger picture of the safety and security of our country and not rejoice in trying to vote for an unstable government.
