Bhopal: Vikramaditya, a healthy and popular elephant who rescued an injured tiger last week in Satpura Tiger Reserve, died suddenly in Kharer Elephant Camp on Tuesday.
Vikramaditya was cremated after post-mortem. Initial investigation points to multi-organ failure and internal bleeding. STR management has claimed that no external injury marks were found on his body.
The exact cause of his death remains uncertain. The Tiger Reserve management is sending his samples to Jabalpur and Bhopal for examination.
7-year-old Vikramaditya was the youngest in his family. Siddhanath, his father is 45, mother Priya is 38 and sister Lakshmi is 10 years old.
