Mumbai: The 100 Thousand Poets for Change Mumbai festival curated by Menka Shivdasani and hosted by Kitab Khana has been a spectacular event showcasing music, poetry, dance and art by talented schoolchildren of Mumbai.

This was the 12th year that Kitab Khana hosted the event.

The theme was One Planet, One Ocean, aligned with the project launched by Jane Goodall Institute India last year, ‘Oceans are Us‘. The children shared their original compositions on this vital topic.

A play by well-known children’s author @Katie Bagli also focused on this theme and was energetically presented by Anju Narula’s Club Elves. Katie Bagli also holds the prestigious position of Director, Education, of the Jane Goodall Institute India.

Pervin Saket was Chief Guest on the occasion, and Commodore Sadashiv Vombatkere was Guest of Honour.

A very special moment was the release of the fourth book of poetry by schoolchildren, written especially for 100 Thousand Poets for Change Mumbai. Titled ‘The Smiling Face, the Child and Birdsong‘, it contains poems written in 2019, 2020 and 2021. This book is published by Raju Kane’s and Menka Shivdasani’s company.
