Bhopal: Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communication University and UNICEF will work together on child rights. A letter of intent for this was signed today at the university, in the presence of Vice Chancellor Deepak Tiwari, by Madhya Pradesh Chief Michael Steven Zuma on behalf of UNICEF and Dependra Singh Baghel, the University Registrar.
Vice Chancellor Deepak Tiwari said that the university has decided to participate in the protection and building awareness of child rights. The university will cover different aspects of child rights in various media courses and conduct workshops on child rights. In addition, some fellowships focused on child rights for students will also be provided by the university. The main objective is to create awareness about child rights among the youth and make them sensitive towards child rights.
UNICEF’s Madhya Pradesh Chief Michael Zuma said that the world is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Children’s Rights Agreement. There is still a need to actively work on child rights. In view of this, UNICEF has decided to work closely with the university in the field of child rights.
Anil Gulati, Communications Specialist of UNICEF, Registrar General of the University Prof Shrikant Singh, Dean Academic Prof Pavitra Shrivastava and Director Training Dr Anurag Seetha were present on this occasion.
