Bhopal: Arriving here for the first time after assuming office as Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President, Kamal Nath, today braved the scorching sun during a 15 km road show in an open jeep.
Kamal Nath was accompanied by Jyotiraditya Scindia, chairman of the State Congress Election Campaign Committee. Also present were party general secretary in-charge Madhya Pradesh Deepak Bavaria, former Union Minister Suresh Pachauri, AICC secretary and former minister Sajjan Singh Verma, MP Vivek Tankha, and former state president Arun Yadav .
“Dislodge BJP and save the country” was one of the prominent slogans raised by Congressmen who had gathered in large numbers at the Congress headquarters here to welcome and greet the new Congress president.
On this occasion, Kamal Nath said that the farmers in the state are unhappy, women are insecure and the unemployed youth are running from pillar to post in search of jobs. The mood of the crowd is clearly depicting that the common man is angry with the BJP government and wants to overthrow it, said the state party chief.
Jyotiraditya Sindhia said that BJP’s departure is a foregone conclusion.
