Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s controversial film Padmavati will not be allowed to be released in the central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh.
Chouhan said on Monday (20 November, 2017) that the film has “distorted facts” about the legendary Rajput queen Padmavati. According to him, a film showing disrespect to her will not be released in the State.
“The insult will not be tolerated,” Chouhan said after a meeting with representatives of the Rajput community on Monday morning. Even if the movie is passed by the Central Board of Film Certification, it will not be permitted to be screened in the state, he asserted.
Shri Rajput Karni Sena has been leading a countrywide protest against the film
