New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Senior Section Engineer of Northern Railway, Kaithal in Haryana for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.40,000/-.
The complainant was awarded a Railway contract for renewal of turn-outs of Narwana-Kurukshetra Railway line. However, the payment was pending to be released as the Engineer demanded a 5% bribe of the total bill amount.
CBI co-ordinated with the complainant, laid a trap and caught the Engineer red handed while demanding and accepting the first installment of the bribe amount.
