Tokyo: On Tokyo winning the bid to host the 2020 Olympics, Japanese Prime Minister Shinjo Abe said on Wednesday: “if Sumo could be added as an Olympic event, I believe Japan and Mongolia could vie for the gold medal.”
The Japanse Prime Minister was addressing a joint press conference after a signing ceremony following talks with Norov Altankhuyag, Prime Minister of Mongolia.
Abe described the summit meeting with the Mongolian Prime Minister as very meaningful.
