New Delhi: Fifty-four IAS officers of the 1997 batch have been empanelled for appointment to the posts of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre.
Maximum 5 officers each have been empanelled for posting as Joint Secretary at the Centre from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. 3 officers each have been empanelled from Andhyra Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Union Territories, while 2 each have got empanelled from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Uttarakhand. Single officers have been picked for posting as Joint Secretary from Haryana, Jharkhand, Manipur-Tripua, and West Bengal.
